Nigrian Soldiers
The United States Government has called on the government and
leaders in Nigeria to end the violence between the Nigerian Army and the
secessionist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra, continues to cause
tension within the South-East.
This was made public in a tweet released by the US Diplomatic Mission to Nigeria on Friday. The tweet reads: “The
US Mission to Nigeria joins the calls of Nigerian leaders and citizens
across the country for an end to violence. #OutofManyOne."
It would be recalled that Nigerian soldiers and IPOB members
clashed in Umuahia after the soldiers were reportedly seen patroling
with armoured vehicles near the house of the leader of the Indigenous
People of Biafra.
The military today started its operation codenamed ‘Operation
Python Dance’ in the South East. Nnamdi Kanu and his group are fighting
for a separatist country of Biafra.
